Entry requirements for home and international students

  • You should have or be about to complete an undergraduate degree in any subject with a minimum grade of 2:2 (or equivalent qualification). We will also accept master’s degrees or equivalent.
  • We may also accept applicants who do not have these qualifications based on two or more years of relevant work experience.
  • If you earned your undergraduate degree outside the UK, you should check that it is equivalent to a 2:2.

English language requirements

  • If English isn’t your first language, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. We accept:
    • IELTS at 6.0 overall with no individual component below 5.5
    • TOEFL overall minimum 60
    • PTE Academic overall minimum 50
    • Cambridge (CAE & CPE) overall 169 with minimum scores of 162 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
    • A degree qualification taught in English
    • Evidence that you work in a company where English is the first language
    • High school qualifications in English
    • Completion of a Duolingo test with an overall score of 105 with no subscore less than 95 in the language section.

Fees

North Wales Management School’s online MBAs are designed to be affordable, saving time and money. Tuition fees are calculated per eight-week module. You can enrol in and pay for each consecutive session as your studies progress. Payment is accepted through the online student portal and must meet the payment deadline.

Conceptualising Leadership in Healthcare

This module enables you to conceptualise leadership, culture and climate within the healthcare sector. It explores the theoretical underpinnings and discusses the application of leadership in practice. It will examine the unique challenges in leadership in the current healthcare culture and climate, inviting you to investigate real-life solutions to ongoing leadership issues at all levels. You will examine your own leadership style and the leadership style of others and as part of the assessment, will be asked to review and performance manage a member of staff within a simulated case study, allowing you to undertake difficult conversations in a safe environment. Reflective practice is at the core of this module and you will be asked to produce a leadership self-assessment and self-development plan within the module.

Professional Practice and Strategy Implementation in the Context of Health Management

This module covers the analysis, formulation and implementation of healthcare strategy and its implications for healthcare management. You will identify key policies and strategies for your area of practice and will suggest methods of implementation for your own clinical or leadership contexts. Working as a team, you will compete, within a true-to-life simulation depicting a competitive process, to secure funding to support a chosen strategic implementation in your area of practice.

Creative Change & Innovation

Provides a critical insight into the enduring nature of change and creativity for health and social care organisational survival and growth. This module encourages recognition of the organisational tensions and performance fluctuations linked to the generation and application of change and new ideas.

Implementing Strategies

This module encourages you to independently explore and research the diverse contribution that strategic practices make to business performance and quality improvement. It develops analytical techniques and judgements based on theoretical models and contextual trends that impact on strategic implementation.

Finance Insights & Business Intelligence

This module develops your abilities to analyse business and financial data and glean key insights that can influence strategic decision making. This contributes to the sustainable financial wellbeing of commercial or non-profit institutions that are faced with disruptive competition.

HRM in Context

Enables you to independently explore and develop your skills and knowledge as an HRM practitioner via contemporary and constructive debates, using information and understanding of HRM across the strategic and operational business environment and related management functions. The aim of this module is to increase credibility in the field of HRM and develop frameworks to support and underpin the evolving nature of work that will integrate with other HR strategies and functions and support human capital and business performance. It develops analytical techniques and judgements based on theoretical models and contextual trends that impact on reward management across strategic business functions.

This module examines the complex relationship between business practices and the impact on the global environment. It considers ways in which business can contribute positively to global environmental concerns and policies.

Integrated Communications

This module is designed to develop your ability to apply effective communication planning and brand management concepts. It provides insights into the contribution to organisational performance made by enhancing sustainable stakeholder relationships and delivering customer value.

Research Methods

This module provides insights into the nature and make-up of academic research methods that align with common research frameworks. It introduces analytical techniques and approaches to sampling along with research ethics in order to provide you with direction that will enable you to investigate and solve your research questions.

Research Proposal

This module supports you in identifying a contemporary business or management problem that is sufficiently complex to warrant investigation as a means of identifying possible solutions. It will provide insight into the nature of academic research, together with methodologies and analytical techniques. You will develop and submit your research proposal based on a focused literature review. The problem identified in this module will be researched in your dissertation.

Dissertation

In your dissertation, you will investigate and report on your chosen contemporary business or management problem. Your research project and writing will be carried out under academic supervision.
